2014 – The Nordic Summer Triathlon

Turning 30 years old was celebrated with a lactate party in and around Stockholm… Fighting with crazy Swedisch rollerskiing pros, almost falling off the bike somewhere in the backyards of Stockholm due to really nasty weather to running a trail half marathon… What an event. Okay, the birthday dinner from the vending machine has room for improvement…

2024

So, 2024 needed a similar event as well…

UTMB has been on the bucket list for a long time… I even brought myself into the position to be able to enter the lottery… However, it is just not at a very suitable time of the year for my planning.. And ever since 2016, when failing at the SWISSMAN, there is this wish to fill this gap. And as this event fits almost perfectly to my actual birthay, the decision was taken: Enter this lottery! Aaaand… I got a spot! Wohoooooo!!!

So, Day 1 of preperation is now… Okay, it could have been way before… But you know how it is… Life happens… A cat ambushes you on the road bike, Covid hits hard, your employer would like some output, the family needs a dad, your wife needs a strong partner…

Excited to try everything possible to be in my best shape in June 2024… If only good-enough-shape, my stubborn mind hasn’t changed in the last 10 years…

Off we go, it’s gonna be an uphill battle, but this, I am good at…
